CONSTRUCTION APPRENTICE PROGRAM

Do you have a high school diploma, a positive mindset, and an innate ability to learn? Gannett Fleming, an engineering and construction management company, is actively recruiting individuals with little to zero construction inspection experience.

The future of construction relies on both entry‑level and experienced technicians. Since 2016, Gannett Fleming’s successful Apprentice Program identifies, trains, and mentors individuals who show an aptitude for the construction industry, through pairing them with an experienced construction professional.

Gannett Fleming hires new, motivated technicians who are enthusiastic about the construction industry. After an interview process, candidates may be asked to complete a math and writing evaluation to demonstrate basic skills. If accepted, the apprentice is provided safety training and inspection training via online and/or classroom instruction.

Key to the mentorship process is pairing the new apprentice with an experienced, knowledgeable staff member. Gannett Fleming’s current staff includes long‑time industry professionals, many with over 30 years of experience. The identified mentor provides intensive on‑site training of successful construction inspection principles.

Once the apprentice has successfully earned basic certifications and is trained in real-life situations, they are placed into an inspection position on a Gannett Fleming project. Through regular contact and open communication, mentors and senior leaders oversee performance and support a long‑lasting relationship with new inspectors.

In addition, Gannett Fleming offers various forms of continuing education, helping new inspectors grow their career and reach their full earning potential. This could include reimbursement of college courses towards a technical degree, as well as payment for advanced technical training and certifications.
